LIFE IN BALANCE

Positive Psychotherapy (PPT)
Positive Psychotherapy, developed by Nossrat Peseschkian in Wiesbaden, Germany, is a psychodynamic approach that integrates evidence-based methods such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), humanistic theory, and systemic therapy. This integrative model allows flexibility to address a wide range of issues.

Rooted in positive psychology, it views people as having inherent strengths that can lead them back to emotional well-being. Symptoms are explored in the context of the person’s whole life story, uncovering their deeper meaning and purpose. While humans have natural self-protection mechanisms, these can sometimes become complicated, leading to distress.

The goal of therapy is to help clients gain self-awareness, understand their true needs, explore their potential for growth, and find the best path forward.

About My Positive Therapy
About My Positive Therapy

My Positive Therapy (MPT) was founded by Katie Grigoratou, a licensed psychologist and certified psychotherapist with a BA in Psychology from York University and an MSc in Positive Psychotherapy from the University of Central Lancashire. Katie also holds an advanced certificate in Ecotherapy from the Pacifica Graduate Institute.

At MPT, our integrative approach combines Peseschkian’s Positive Psychotherapy, Seligman’s Positive Psychology, and Ecopsychology. We focus on understanding what symptoms are trying to convey and why they appear at this particular moment in life.

MPT provides a compassionate space for self-discovery, helping clients overcome challenges, embrace their strengths, and restore balance. We work with issues such as anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, life transitions, and burnout, always tailoring therapy to each individual’s needs.
